This recording brings together Sweden-based pianist, Walter Thompson; Denver-based saxophonist, Mark Harris; Denver-based bassist, Matt Smiley; and Casper, Wyoming-based percussionist, Ron Coulter for the first time. Coulter arranged the summit after meeting Thompson and Harris at a soundpainting workshop conducted by Thompson in Denver three months prior, and Coulter's long history of collaboration with Smiley. The four found an immediate musical rapport and the result is an idiosyncratic sound world of spontaneous free jazz and improvisation.
